Day 1
– Monday, June 14
Depart for Chicago via
Van Galder bus - 3:00 pm.
Chicago to Norway via Scandinavian Air - 10:05 pm

2
–
Tuesday, June 15
Arrive Copenhagen
1:20 pm - Depart for OSLO at 3:20
Arrive Oslo Airport Gardermoen at 4:30 pm.
Go through Immigration, Baggage, Customs and
Arrivals Hall. Meet tour guide, transfer to the Rica Victoria Hotel. Centrally
located in downtown Oslo. Dinner at hotel
Day 3
– Wednesday, June 16 - Oslo
Breakfast at the
Rica Victoria Hotel.
9:00 am -
Bus will pick up equipment. The group can take the bus or walk to Oslo City Hall
(about 4 blocks)
9:30 am - Performance in front of Oslo City Hall
11:00 am
to 3:00 pm -
Enjoy a 4
hrs sightseeing tour of Norway’s capital city including Vigeland Park, Viking
Ship Museum & the Norwegian Folk Museum. We plan to have the picnic outside if
the weather is nice, otherwise we will eat inside one of the old houses. If
our schedule allows, it would be fun to spend some time dancing together,
teaching each other dances and dance the dances we all know from before.

the Museum main stage with the Norway group.
6:00 pm -
Bus pick up - Lodge performance & Barbeque out by the fjord, and is the Oslo
Sjømannskirke. The Seamanschurch, It's a nice place and the youngsters can
take the boat out to Bygdoy from town.

Day 4
–
Thursday, June 17 - OSLO to GJØVIK
Breakfast at the hotel

Depart Oslo for Gjovik

- Sight-seeing
in Gjovik by bus and visiting the Cavern hall with English speaking guide.

“Friviilighetssentralen” – close to the Cavern Hall

pm - Check in at Quality Hotel Grand

Short performance – in the walking street Gjovik down town.
6:00 pm

Performance in “Gjovik-hallen”
together with a local Folklore group.

Day 5 –
Friday, June 18 - EXCURSION TO LILLEHAMMER
Breakfast at the hotel

Depart Gjovik

- Arrive Hafjell (Ride Hafjell Gondola)
12:00 am - Sight-seeing in Lillehammer.
View the Ski-jump and other Olympic sites.
2:00 pm
- Lunch at “Friviilighetssentralen” in Lillehammer.

Performance on Sigrid Unseths Place - Lillehammer,
6:30 pm - Depart
Lillehammer - return to Gjovik
8:00 pm - Dinner

Day 6
– Saturday, June 19 - GJØVIK - BALESTRAND
Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart for the western Norwegian
fjord country. Travel through the lush and fertile Valdres Valley. Visit
Borgund Stave Church, one of the most interesting and best preserved of the
remaining stave church. In Lærdal tour the Wild Salmon Center situated on the
banks of one of the most famous salmon rivers in Norway. Cross the mighty
Sognefjord from Fodnes to Mannheller. Continue along the fjord crossing again
from Hella to Dragsvik.

Day 7 –
Sunday, June 20 - BALESTRAND-FLÅM-BERGEN
Early breakfast at the hotel. 7:15
Possible Church Service at St. Olaf’s - English speaking
Service. 9:00 or in the afternoon. Times depend on the Vicar on site. We will
check upon our arrival at Kvikne’s
11:50 am - Cruise from Balestrand to Flåm.
1:25 pm - Arrive Flam - Depart Flam 1:35 on railway to Myrdal. Transfer trains
in Myrdal to Voss. Board the Flåm Railway, ranked as one of the top 20 train
rides in the World. Within 13 miles ascend 2800 feet to Myrdal, where we
transfer to the famous Oslo/Bergen Railway and continue by train to Voss. Meet
motor coach in Voss and proceed to Bergen, arriving in Bergen at approximately
5:15.

Day 8

Monday, June 21 - BERGEN
Breakfast at the hotel.

- We will enjoy a three hour sightseeing tour including Troldhaugen & walking tour of Hanseatic
wharf.

Day 9
– Tuesday, June 22 - BERGEN - STAVANGER
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will
partake in an approximately a five 5 trip from Bergen to Stavanger. We will
travel by Bus and Ferry, even an underwater tunnel. Our arrival time will be
approximately 2:00 pm. We will check into our hotel first, someone from the
Stavanger group will meet us there. We will walk take the five minute walk
to the harbor. It is the center of town with many shops, museums, the farmer &
fish markets, the cathedral and many restaurants. This is what we can see the
next day! We can join them for a barbeque later. At ~5:00 our bus will take us
sightseeing in the Stavanger and Sandnes area on the way to the Friluftshuset at
the Orre beach.

Return to Stavanger before Midnight

Day 10
– Wednesday, June 23 – STAVANGER
Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 or 11:00 - A three hour Cruise right off the Hotel area
- ** Grab a bite to eat prior to departure…
5:15 - Bus to Vaulen municipal swimming spot/park at
the fjord where we will celebrate the Mid summer night. There is a wind band
from a local school that will perform at 6:00 and we will perform right after.
The fire is lit after the concert, at about 7:00 pm. There will be games for the
children.
10:00 pm - Bus
back to the hotel. No food from tour
Dinner will be on your own

Day 11
– Thursday, June 24 - STAVANGER -CHICAGO
Breakfast at the hotel -
Depart for
home.
